The Drop 1.0 Pickleball shoes are the best court shoes I have worn and I’ve tried a dozen brands. Excellent feel, love the sock-like forefoot cover, the cushioning and lateral support. I bought two pairs and will buy more Montis exclusively.
I've been playing pickleball recreationally 4 to 5 times per week for the past two years or so. When I started, I purchased Nike's pickleball shoe, and thought it was too boxy and heavy, and on top of it all, the sole wore out very quickly. Next, I moved onto Skechers' pickleball shoe, which had a more narrow silhouette, but still, to lace my shoe tightly enough, I pulled the laces so tightly at the bottom eyelet, that the body of the shoe's material gaped. Despite its appearance, I made due, and ended up buying a second identical pair to include in the rotation. Eventually the first pair's sole got worn down, and I saw the second pair's sole wasn't far behind. Even still, I was more satisfied with the Skechers than the Nikes, but both pale in comparison to the Montis I've been wearing for the past few weeks. They are light, well constructed, and secure on my foot. When I adjust the lacing, the panel of material that is closest to that particular eyelet responds. Meaning, I can keep the laces at the lowest eyelet moderately tight, but across the top of my foot aligned to the middle eyelets tighter, yet the highest eyelets the least tight of the three sections. Inspection of the sole thus far shows great durabilityand as such, in conjunction with the fit and support, I have found myself putting more effort into my lateral movement, as well as dragging my toes. What I once considered a pickleball shoe as a means to prevent injury, I now view as a means to elevate my game.
